New listings Tomorrow on Etsy and Ebay

Hi all..
So sorry it's been so long since I last posted on my blog.
I've been busy (looking for work and trying to get back in the swing of things).

Life hasn't been easy these last four and half months but I'm hoping it will get better.
As someone once said

"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass". It's about learning to dance in the rain.

I found some time to sculpt again and have a few jointed dolls that I'll be listing on Etsy and on Ebay. Now I'm not saying that I'll be making a ton of Dolls but I'll try to sneek some in from time to time.
After my life gets back to a normal, I'll be making more than my fair share of dolls.
But for now, Please checkout my listings tomorrow ngiht on Etsy and Ebay!

Blessings all!

Magic Jack, Does it work??

Have any of you wonder about the " Magic Jack "?
Well wonder no more because I can tell you.

I have one and It works well.
You will need a computer and internet service in order for it to work.

Just plug your Magic Jack into a USB port on your computer and follow the registration process.

At that point you will get to pick your Area Code for your magic Jack and I believe you will be able to pick the first three numbers of your phone number as well.

After that is done, you can plug your phone right up to it.. I use my cordless phone with my Magic Jack.
I've taken my cordless phone outside while in use and it still works as it should just like any other landline phone.

Oh and just a note I don't have to worry about a monthly phone bill...
I paid $40.00 for the Magic Jack and that includes the years service.

Once a year I have to pay $20.00 for another years service.

Yippee!!!
Nooooooo Phone bill!!!

So if anyone of you on the fence about getting one, I'd say try it and if you don't Love it you can always take it back to the store where you bought it for a full refund.

My mom and brothers are using the Magic Jack as well since I told them about it. They LOVE IT AS WELL.

My brother (Robert) also bought one for his daughter, now she is has her own Phone.

Not a blonde

Have you ever thought about changing your hair color?
Well I have and did just that.

What a nightmare that ended up being!
I went from blonde to dark brown hair in about 20 minutes. What a shocked that was and wasted no time in calling my Mom. After all she is a beautician and I thought she could fix my mess.
I only wanted to blend the roots in with the rest of my hair. I was born a blonde and always thought I'd always be a blonde but the color in the box had other Ideas.
I went with the lightest Golden Brown dye and my hair turned a very dark brown.

My Mom and worked on my hair for about 3 hours trying to killed the dark brown color without damaging it anymore than it already was.

Needless to say It didn't help.

Dress from scraps

Here's a dress that I'm working for my Granddaughter.
I still have to make my button holes and sew on my buttons
other than that it's all finished.

It was created from the leftovers of this bright and wild scrap vintage fabric I had.
I already had the new Black fabric and just need something to go with it.
In total I would theres less than 1/4 of the scrap fabric and 1/2 yard of the black fabric. Size 2t
I used a pattern for this dress and didn't really like it that much so I changed it up and Now It looks great.

Click on the pictures to enlarge it. :)

Our neighbor commited suicide last night

Our neighbor commited suicide last night. He was 75 years old.

I tried to speak to him every day but missed yesterday and Sunday because of Easter. ( I was gone for Easter.)
I did however speak to him on Saturday and it was pretty much the same conversation that we would have every day.
He talked about how lonely he was and that his wife died 5 years ago.
(He never got over her death).

He kept telling me, He thought his golden years would be great but it wasn't at all how he had planned it for all those years.

He said he had envision his life with his wife in his golden years. He spoke about all the money he had made and was going to use it to pay a nice retirement home when he couldn't care for his self any more.

I just kept telling him things would get better and that the Devil was just working overtime right now but to give God a Chance to work now.
I told him God wasn't ready for him because his work here on earth wasn't done.

He then said he didn't think it would ever be better.

So this morning I'm beating myself up over this.
I'm asking myself again could I have done something differently?
This is second person to commit suicide sense My ex-brother in Law
"Rick" hung his self 21 years ago.
Suicide is permanent solution to a temporary problem.

I don't believe anyone that commits suicide thinks about the ones they leave behind and how hard it is on their family & friends.

About Me

My Photo
TatteredCowWings
Mae Hoover was born in Texas and traveled the world by being an Army Brat. As a Child she didn't have a lot of dolls, most were left behind in her many moves. Mae has had great deal curiosity in the mechanics of doll making and clothes. When she was just 11 years old, she asked her Mother for an old Sheet. Her mother was resistance but gave her the sheet anyway. Mae cut and Hand stitched her first Halloween Dress without a pattern. She has been hooked ever since. Designing and creating dolls is her passion. She has a natural ability when creating "One of a Kind Fabric and Clay Dolls". The Scissors are her Pen and the Fabric is her Paper.... She never using molds when working with the Clay. She only works with the gifts that have been given to her by God. Always made with "a Wing and a Prayer". Her dolls can be purchased on e-bay or from the Artist exclusively... Ever wonder why a name like TatteredCowWings? It's Simply because she hit a truck loaded down with cows, hit her head and woke to see cows with wings.. She had a second chance at life.. God is Good!
