Well it's all most that time of year again.. School will be starting soon and all the little children will need school supplies.. Some will go to school empty handed because their parents just simply can't afford it. Very sad to hear but to "live it" it's even sadder for a child!
We all want children to grow up and be productive. That can't happen without the tools they need.

Lets face it, everyone needs tools.
If you go to work, you need a way to get there ( a "car" also known as "a tool") without it you could walk but you still need "a tool", aka shoes. If you were going to cook a hot dog over a camp fire you would need a tool aka "a stick" to cook it..

The point I am trying to making is simple, give a child tools (school supplies) to do their job and watch them succeed. This is "the real no child left behind"!
The smiles from a child are real and can be felt deep in the heart.

So I do my part.. I'm not rich but you don't have to rich to buy a pack of crayons, only .20 at wal-mart. all of what you see in the picture below cost less than $30.00.. There is enough here for at least 7 children. So next time your in wal-mart and you see the crayons, paper, pencils, glue.. Buy a few dollars worth and drop it off at the school.. The teachers will be thrilled to get it and they will give it to a child that has nothing on the first day of school. You will be tickle pink to know you made a child smile.
God Said, Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!
Blessings, Mae
p.s.
I was one of those children that didn't have school supplies as a child.. I was so embarrassed when the teacher called me to the front of the class because I didn't have a pencil or paper.. She said that would be .10 cent for a pencil and 5 cents for a sheet of paper, and she wanted to be paid the next morning... Well, I was a child and I didn't have 15 cents.. So after school was out, I worried all day and all night how I was going to get 15 cents. I believe my mom gave the 15 cents to me that night. The next morning I walked to the class room with the 15 cents in my hand and gave it to the teacher. She looked shocked and I walked away with a proud smile on my face.
As my Grandmother would say, "Your only as good as your word".
My Mom made sure after that, that I would always have paper and pencils if nothing else.
No one should be embarrassed about who or what they are, In Gods eyes we are all the same. Mom always told me..We all put our pants on one leg at a time!

Mae,
I really agree with you. We all put one pants leg on at a time. There are children out there that need those supplies and also clothing.
I too as a child grew up and at times I didnt have it when I went to school. We did the best we could.
I have five kiddos, we buy for them but we also buy extra for a child that needs those things and when its time to be given out they have them and they dont feel left out. Thank you Mae for sharing this with us. I hope people will go out and buy a few or lot of school supplies for children.
God bless!
