I've been working my fingers to the bone. I've been sculpting, sewing, wood carving, and doing wood work.

As a matter-of-fact, I cut my finger with the saw.. Thank Goodness it was only my hand saw but it got my attention when I seen blood. Thank God I didn't have to go to the hospital,(Woo Hoo only one band aid, this time)lol. I could just see me telling the Doctor what I was doing and the Doctor looking at me like I was crazy...lol
From now on I'll keep telling myself cut the wood not my finger, and don't hit the wrong nail...lol

So...

I made my first little chair from wood then covered it in foam and fabric. What a hoot that was. I really enjoyed it and will be making a few more. The chair I made will be up for auction along with a "lady" that is setting in it. The lady is made from fabric and clay. She is really something, A real looker...lol You all will see very soon.

I made the "Duchess" from Alice in wonderland and will be listing her on e-bay real soon. She was so much fun to make!

The last doll I've been working on is an Asian doll. This was a first for me and will not be my last.. Not sure if I'll list her on e-bay, my website or just keep her.

My Mom had some Asian Dolls when I was little kid and believe it or not I gave them to her. I had found them buried in some burlap in the ground. They were dirty little dollies but Mom cleaned them up nicely. She had them for about 10 years until her ex husband took all of her possessions (other than her clothes). Mom and I just loved those Asian dolls.

I'll try to post some pictures of the dolls I've been working on real soon.. So check back later on today.

About Me

My photo
Mae Hoover was born in Texas and traveled the world by being an Army Brat. As a Child she didn't have a lot of dolls, most were left behind in her many moves. Mae has had great deal curiosity in the mechanics of doll making and clothes. When she was just 11 years old, she asked her Mother for an old Sheet. Her mother was resistance but gave her the sheet anyway. Mae cut and Hand stitched her first Halloween Dress without a pattern. She has been hooked ever since. Designing and creating dolls is her passion. She has a natural ability when creating "One of a Kind Fabric and Clay Dolls". The Scissors are her Pen and the Fabric is her Paper.... She never using molds when working with the Clay. She only works with the gifts that have been given to her by God. Always made with "a Wing and a Prayer". Her dolls can be purchased on e-bay or from the Artist exclusively... Ever wonder why a name like TatteredCowWings? It's Simply because she hit a truck loaded down with cows, hit her head and woke to see cows with wings.. She had a second chance at life.. God is Good!
